Mike Hanson – Custoemr: “I had just heard from another business that there was somebody with a gun.”
The Fargo man was on his way home and stopped by Petro Serve USA to get a newspaper. Now, he's the one making the news.
Mike Hanson: “They weren't saying you couldn't so kind of dumb on my part but I didn't think I was in any danger.”
Our cameras capture the concern of customer after customer. They try to enter the closed store, but can't, all while not knowing there may be a man with a rifle.
Hans Swanson – Petro Serve USA Assistant Manager: “The phone rings and there's a police woman on the phone saying there's a man running around.”
Authorities warned 20 nearby business to immediately lock their doors. Petro took precaution. It shut down, just like Arby's, Sanford, and Union Bank.
Hans Swanson: “I've never had a cop call and tell me to shut my store down. Ever.”
Workers stayed safe inside, with police just outside their windows. Within an hour, they were back in business, but still a little shaken.
Hans Swanson: “At first I was really nervous and shocked.”
Mike Hanson: “It's scary, especially in today's age where a lot of people are going a little crazy.”
This business re-opened after police gave the all clear. The workers tell us the store didn't lose too much money with the closure coming after the lunch rush.
