STILLWATER, Minn. (AP) — Minnesota authorities say a man whose body was pulled from the St. Croix (croy) River last weekend died by drowning.
Washington County authorities were alerted to a fishing boat going in circles last Saturday evening near Bayport Marina. The body of 46-year-old Ronald Bringgold, of White Bear Lake, was found in the water about 100 yards away. He had been fishing alone. Winds were 12 to 15 mph with an 18-inch chop.
The Washington County sheriff's office said Wednesday that preliminary autopsy results show the cause of death was drowning. The sheriff's office says the investigation remains open until the medical examiner's full report — including toxicology results — is complete, which could take weeks.
