DEVILS LAKE, N.D. (AP) — While many people in North Dakota are enjoying a reprieve from chronic flooding, there's no end in sight for residents who live around Devils Lake.

North Dakota Sen. Kent Conrad has scheduled a field hearing Wednesday in the city of Devils Lake to discuss the ongoing effort to manage a lake that has risen about 30 feet and quadrupled in size since the early 1990s.

Devils Lake Mayor Dick Johnson, Ramsey County Commissioner Joe Belford and Nelson County Commissioner Odell Flaagan are expected to testify at the hearing. Sen. John Hoeven is also participating.

The meeting is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. at Lake Region State College.
