The Diversion Authority is trying to calm fears of business owners possibly forced to relocate because of the diversion. Topics at tonight's meeting ranged from moving expenses to finding suitable replacement property.
Like last week's meetings with homeowners, business owners seem more frustrated about the lack of answers. If displaced, the diversion authority say farmsteads would be handled on a case by case basis, but everyone agrees, moving a business can be much different than moving a home.
Mike Bice – Knickerbocker Owner: “In my case being the bar owner, your business is devalued to nothing. It's not like you're a business in Fargo and you move across the street.”
Also today the Assistant Secretary of the Army for Civil Works has signed the record of decision officially signifying to Congress that the Obama Administration has approved the Army Corps of Engineers' plan for the diversion.
