There's a huge push to make add another North Dakota city Smoke Free. The Barnes County ACHIEVE Partnership asked people in Valley City if smoking should be allowed at public places and workplaces. Almost 80 percent say no.
Public Health experts say going smoke free does three things: Protect public health, help smokers cut back, and stop children from starting early. The idea will be presented to Valley City Commissioners at their next meeting.
Theresa Will – City-County Health: "We have the right to breathe clean air. We also have the right to go into any establishment. "
If Valley City leaders agree, it will be the 8th smoke free city in North Dakota.
