Army Corps to study Valley City flood risk

Valley City, ND (WDAY TV) - The Army Corps of Engineers and Valley City have a formal agreement to study ways to reduce the risk of future flooding.

The Army Corps of Engineers and Valley City have a formal agreement to study ways to reduce the risk of future flooding. The city and the corps will sign a cost-sharing agreement for the study on April 10th.

Each entity will pay half, expected to be about $1.5 million. The study is expected to take about 2 years to complete. The corps will be evaluating alternatives for reducing flood damage along the Sheyenne.
