Minot Area Recovery fund is down to 1,200 flood victims

Minot, ND (WDAY TV) -- The Minot Area Recovery Fund is down to the final 12-hundred flood victims able to get reimbursed for recovery expenses.

Of the three thousand, 26 letters sent out, about one thousand people have not responded. Many came to a disbursement meeting. Community leaders believe attendance has to do with future flood protection and a mild winter helping in rebuilding.

Ken Kitzman, with the Minot Area Recovery Fund says, "we're trying to transition the funding of the recovery part, to the rebuilding of our community, whether it be other housing issues, parks, zoos."

More than 3 point 5 million dollars in aid has been given to 17-hundred families
