BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — The son arrested for allegedly stealing his slain mother's vehicle in Bismarck is a suspect in her death.

Bismarck Deputy Chief Dan Donlin confirms that 47-year-old Dean Grenstiner is a suspect in the death of 83-year-old Ann Grenstiner, who was found dead in her home Tuesday. Her son was arrested in Fargo Thursday for allegedly stealing her vehicle.

Grenstiner is in custody and being brought back to Bismarck. Court documents do not list an attorney for him.

Donlin says an autopsy has confirmed that Ann Grenstiner's death was a homicide. Authorities have not said how she died.

Court documents show that Dean Grenstiner has a criminal record, with convictions in the past 15 years for gross sexual imposition, contributing to the deprivation of a minor and accomplice to property theft.
