BLOOMINGTON, Minn. (AP) — A man was struck and killed while trying to cross a highway near the Mall of America in Bloomington.
The State Patrol says 23-year-old Asukile O. Younge, whose city of residence isn't known, was running from the east side of Highway 77 to the west side around 5 p.m. Thursday. He made it across the northbound lanes, but was hit by a southbound minivan.
The van driver, a 49 year-old Bloomington woman, wasn't injured.
The Patrol says the pavement was dry and alcohol was not a factor in the incident, which remains under investigation.
