Fargo city officials meet to discuss pension plan

Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - City workers, police, and fire employees are learning more about the future of their pension plans. City and bank officials met with employees to break down pension plans and different policies.

City workers, police, and fire employees are learning more about the future of their pension plans. City and bank officials met with employees to break down pension plans and different policies.

Officials talked about certain changes that might come into play sometime in the future. These include the age someone can retire and the differences in benefits based on job classification. This would mean the pension plan of an officer in the line of duty would be different from someone who is not

Although the age of retirement might change things that bank officials say should not are disability benefits and liability of death benefits. Officials stress most of these changes are for new employees only.
