No arrests have been made yet in the murder of an 83 year-old Bismarck woman. After discovering Ann Grenstiner's body Tuesday afternoon, the investigation has led officials here to Fargo.
When Bismarck Police arrived on scene Tuesday afternoon, Grenstiner's 2012 Honda CRV was the only thing missing. That same vehicle was found late this morning at Fargo bar near downtown. Now the investigation is taking the cooperation of both the Fargo and Bismarck police departments.
Deputy Chief Pat Claus – Fargo Police: “Jurisdictional lines have to be crossed, resources have to be allocated. It's important we always assist for the good of our community and the good of our sister's communities.”
Grenstiners vehicle was found outside of Duffy's bar, just a block south of Main on 12th street.
Pat Claus: “We've assigned a couple detectives to assist their detectives who are in town and have been since this morning.”
Police say they found signs of forced entry into Grenstiner's home, and there were obvious signs of trauma.
Lt. Bob Haas – Bismarck Police: “It would be safe to say she did not die of natural causes.”
Bismarck police say they are questioning two persons of interest, but nobody is in custody yet.
Bob Haas: “We believe that they have information relating to the homicide, these are the only people we've been wanting to talk to.”
As for whether the people of Fargo-Moorhead could be in danger, police are reassuring the public.
Pat Claus: “We do not believe there is any risk or danger to anybody in the city of Fargo. This investigation is being conducted with our assistance through Bismarck P.D. We believe Bismarck has this well under control.”
Police are not releasing the names of the people being questioned, only saying that they knew Grenstiner. Again, there have been no official arrests made yet as the Bismarck police department awaits word from the State's attorney.
