Main Avenue in West Fargo to undergo changes

West Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - Business owners along the Main Avenue corridor in West Fargo will be seeing plenty of orange cones. North Dakota Department of Transportation plans to reconstruct Main Avenue between 5th Street East and 45th Street West.

Business owners along the Main Avenue corridor in West Fargo will be seeing plenty of orange cones. North Dakota Department of Transportation plans to reconstruct Main Avenue between 5th Street East and 45th Street West.

Work on the $14.6 million project will begin Monday and will last into October. Crews will lay down new pavement, add a storm sewer system, get rid of most frontage roads and add bike and pedestrian facilities.

Kevin Gorder – Assistant District Engineer: “It's gonna be difficult for some of those folks, there's a railroad on the north side, there's a railroad on the southside, we're gonna be under construction so we're gonna to do our best to get people in and out of there, but it's going to be a little different.”

Beginning April 12th, the DOT will hold public meetings for people who have concerns or questions about the construction work. They'll be every other Thursday at TNT's Diner in West Fargo.
