After months of uncertainty, construction is back on at Bonanzaville Museum. Officials secured $800,000 in loans to finish the Lucien C. Barnes pavilion and the remodeling of the museum. It's guaranteed by the USDA Rural development. $500,000 will go for work already finished. The other $300,000 will help finish the project.
The 15,000 square foot building will have a state of the art educational center and will be used as an events center for weddings, meetings and school tours.
Troy White – Executive Director: “It's not only the building, I think that we have a kind of a renewed energy out here - board members, staff - everybody - there's not a lack of passion for this place for the people who are involved.”
Construction will restart in a couple weeks and the project should be finished by the end of June.
