Fargo Police unveil new website to help track valuable materials

Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - The people of Fargo now have a new tool to store and track their valuable materials. In partnership with the city of Fargo, the Police Department unveiled it's My Property Web Site.

People can store information about products ranging from bikes to iPod's to jewelry. The Department says the program will not only help with tracking lost and stolen property, but also help if your stuff is lost in a fire or natural disaster.

SGT. JASON NELSON - Fargo Police Department: “If the victim has the property in the system, the patrol officer can pull up that person in the system and pull up where the owner lives and tie that property to the owner.”

Police say this is the first program of its kind in the region.
