(WDAY TV) -- UND may not have had it's logo on the jerseys this afternoon,
but they made sure that everyone knew it was the same team that's won 15 straight games in the month of March.
Number 16 was a grind for the Sioux taking on Western Michigan in the West Regional Semifinal.
UND's second line strikes first, Michael Parks skates behind the net and
scores on the wrap around. The Freshman has been red hot recently. UND led 1-0 at the first intermission.
These two teams will be conference foes in 2013, they were getting a headstart today with the physical play.
UND's top line nets a goal early in the 2nd. Off the turnover, Danny Kristo passes to Brock Nelson, Nelson's shot bounces off Kristo behind the net, and Corban Knight is johnny on the spot for his 16th goal of the season.
Later in the 2nd, Western Michigan breaks the shutout, Kyle O'kane off the breakout pass, beats Aaron Dell to make it 2-1. The Broncos later had a goal disallowed because the net went off it's moorings.
Other than that, Dell was rock solid again. He finished with 24 saves.
Sioux fans had to hold their collective breaths until the final 30 seconds,
when Warroad's Brock Nelson put in the empty-netter.
UND advances to tomorrow's regional final, with a 3-1 win.
