New Business in Devils Lake will turn Straw into Biodegradable Products

Devils Lake, ND (WDAY TV) -- A wheat straw fiber processing plant planned for Devils Lake won't have problems getting that straw.

Devils Lake, ND (WDAY TV) -- A wheat straw fiber processing plant planned for Devils Lake won't have problems getting that straw.

Ultra Green will contract with area growers for straw, which will be turned into biodegradable products, like pizza pans and tableware. It plans to open later this year.

The company will contract for 4 thousand acres of straw next year. But that could reach 20 thousand by 2017, when the plant is at full capacity.
