New study shows women spending more on healthcare than men

Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - A new study released by the National Women's Law Center shows women are spending more on health insurance than men. The study reveals women are spending approximately one billion dollars more on health care per year.

A new study released by the National Women's Law Center shows women are spending more on health insurance than men. The study reveals women are spending approximately one billion dollars more on health care per year.

Although women are viewed as being healthier overall then men, their rates are significantly more than men. We spoke with a local insurance agent who says in North Dakota the rates are the same for women and men.

The state of California has already prohibited the use of gender rating when pricing for individual coverage.
