It’s another sign the economy is improving; car dealerships are having their best year since before the recession. Even in a stable economy like Fargo, sales continue to climb.
Nationwide new car and truck sales are the highest we've seen since 2007, and locally it's no different as some dealerships are on pace to have their best March's ever.
Victor Peterson – General Sales Manager: “People are looking for some good fuel economy cars and of course the North Dakota economic climate is pretty good too.”
Corwin Honda moved into their new facility just two months ago. Already they're on pace to sell more than 125 new cars and 100 used cars this March - their best month ever. Corwin managers say it's not only because of the new facility, but because of great financing options and a new push on leasing vehicles.
Victor Peterson: “They generally can save $100-$125 on a lease per month compared to a 60 month purchase.”
Perhaps the most important factor, Peterson says, is good old Mother Nature. Nationwide, new car sales are on pace to reach 15 million this year, up more than 2 million from last year.
