A Pennsylvania man is the last of three candidates to interview to become Fargo's new school superintendent. Joel Boyd met with students, staff, and community members.
The 33 year-old wrestling coach has been assistant superintendent in Philadelphia for four years. He oversees 37 schools and 30,000 students. Boyd says he likes the warm community here, but wants to work on closing the achievement gap between all students.
Joel Boyd – Fargo Superintendent Finalist: “I work with a philosophy of every child college bound and really providing every child with the option of college upon graduation and that seems to be the culture of Fargo with its three colleges in the metro area and the heavy involvement of its universities.”
The school board meets tomorrow. It could decide then who gets the job.
