Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) – A verdict has been reached in an attempted murder trial. A jury found Felipe Estrada guilty of aggravated assault with a firearm in the shooting of Juan Garza last summer outside the West Acres Cinema. Estrada was accused of attempted murder.

The two men were involved with the same woman, DeShawn Stodola. She is the ex-wife of Garza and ex-girlfriend of Estrada. Estrada was also found guilty of aggravated assault against Garza's friend Charlie Roskom. He was found guilty on two counts of reckless endangerment.

Gary Euren – Prosecuting Attorney: “I was gratified that they did find that he was especially dangerous. That gives us more latitude than we would have otherwise, but I believe the evidence showed the attempted murder, but the jury disagreed and the jury is the final arbiter of all of our decisions.”

Steve Mottinger – Defense Attorney: “Well this was a tough set of facts, it's obviously a bittersweet verdict for Mr. Estrada. He was found guilty of four significant charges and we're just going to have to go forward and do the best we can when it comes to coming up with a good argument when it's appropriate for his sentencing hearing.”

Estrada faces a maximum of 10 years in prison, possibly more. Judge Webb revoked his bail, until sentencing. Estrada may face deportation.
