2 accused of using deadly force against officers

HASTINGS, Minn. (AP) — Police say a man and woman are being held in the Dakota County Jail after officers were shot at in Inver Grove Heights.

A 39-year-old man and 47-year-old woman were arrested Sunday morning shortly after one or two gunshots were fired from a parked vehicle as officers approached it. Police say the vehicle sped away.

The officers were responding to a report of possible gunshots in the area. The man and woman are being held on felony charges, including use of deadly force against a police officer.

The St. Paul Pioneer Press (http://bit.ly/xzNSUL) says the two are expected in court Tuesday. Sgt. Sean Folmar says the officers were not hit.
