Expo Shows How to Maintain Histroric Homes

Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) -- People in the metro are learning how to maintain historic homes.

The Fargo Historic Preservation Commission sponsored the first ever Historic Home Expo. People learned how to keep up with the daily maintenance of such homes.

Guest speakers showed people how to preserve windows, doors, and the structure of old homes. Vendors sold supplies. Organizers say we have so many historic homes here and often, people don't know how to keep them up.

Dawn Mayo, the event planner, says, "my biggest goal is for people to walk away with just more appreciation for old houses, old houses are gems, they are historic resources that just cant be duplicated, so I really want people to treasure that."

The expo could become an annual one.
