GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) — North Dakota Democrats are picking their candidates for the U.S. Senate and House on Saturday.

But the featured attraction of the state Democratic convention will be former President Bill Clinton.

Clinton is visiting downtown Grand Forks Saturday. Afterward he's appearing at a North Dakota Democratic fundraiser, and then he'll speak to the state Democratic convention early Saturday afternoon.

Clinton last visited Grand Forks during the Red River floods of 1997.

Democratic convention delegates don't have any endorsement contests Saturday.

Democrats are expected to support Heidi Heitkamp for the U.S. Senate, Pam Gulleson for the House, Brad Crabtree for public service commissioner, Scot Kelsh for state auditor and Ellen Chaffee for lieutenant governor.

Max Laird is also asking for Democratic support to run for superintendent of public instruction.
