BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — Beach battled back in the second half, posting a 52-48 quarterfinal victory over Kindred on Thursday in the North Dakota girls Class B basketball tournament.
BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — Beach battled back in the second half, posting a 52-48 quarterfinal victory over Kindred on Thursday in the North Dakota girls Class B basketball tournament.
The Buccaneers outscored the Vikings 19-7 in the third quarter, turning an eight-point halftime deficit into a four-point lead, and Beach held on down the stretch to advance to the semifinals. Beach (23-2) shot 50 percent from the field in the third quarter, hitting 8 of 16 shots from the field and outscored Kindred 32-20 in the second half.
Cyndi Stedman scored 15 points to lead the way for Beach. Hailee Farstveet posted a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds, contributing to a 51-46 edge on the boards for the Buccaneers. Bailey Waldal added 10 points and five assists.
Kellie Schmit paced Kindred (24-2) with 15 points and 12 rebounds. Casey Allmaras added 11 points.
