BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — North Dakota Democratic governor candidate Ryan Taylor says he'll be announcing his choice for a running mate on Wednesday.
North Dakota Democrats are holding their state convention this weekend in Grand Forks. Convention delegates normally choose who will run for lieutenant governor. Taylor says he'll be asking delegates to endorse his pick.
Taylor and former first lady Jane Sinner are holding a news conference in Fargo Wednesday to announce Taylor's choice.
Democratic convention delegates are scheduled to endorse their preferred candidate for lieutenant governor Saturday.
The Democrats will be opposing incumbent Republican Gov. Jack Dalrymple and Lt. Gov. Drew Wrigley. Republicans are having their state convention later this month in Bismarck.
Taylor is a rancher and state senator from Towner. He is the Democratic leader in the North Dakota Senate.
