Grand Forks, ND (WDAY TV) -- There's new Grand Forks reading material on the stands. The goal is to inspire readers with stories about local women.

Autumn and Kelly Graber are a husband and wife team that have started a new magazine called Grand Cities Women. The first issue hit the stands last week. Autumn says she first had the idea of starting a magazine while in college.

Autumn Graber: "I thought it was a fascinating. And it was something I wanted to bring back to my community where I grew up."

And she did just that a year and a half ago, when she introduce her first women's magazine in Devils Lake, appropriately called Lake Region Women. It wasn't long after that requests came in to start one in Grand Forks.

Autumn: "We want to tell stories about women that are doing good. So that other women are inspired to go out there and make their mark."

Kelly Graber: "They will go out and do something so great. And don't feel the need to go and parade their accomplishments and what they have done. And I think this magazine is a great way of telling their story for them."

The magazine will also includes self --improvement articles, an event calendar, a shopping guide, and even a wedding and children photo gallery. The free magazine is supported solely by advertising, and the content comes from freelance journalists.

Autumn Graber: "As we start developing an issue we will start pulling together writers and photographers to help in the different lay outs."

Grand Cities Woman issues will also be available online, helping Autumn reach more readers outside of Greater Grand Forks area.

Autumn : "We just want to tell good stories. Inspire people. I think we can do that. Every women has a story. "

You can get the magazine at Hugo's Market Place. More locations will be added.
