BROOKINGS, S.D. (AP) — South Dakota State University head wrestling coach Jason Liles has resigned after 19 seasons in which he became the program's career wins leader.
Liles finishes his SDSU career with a 148-143-5 record. He built a powerhouse program at the NCAA Division II level, but the Jackrabbits were not as successful after their jump up to Division I.
SDSU went 1-29 against Western Wrestling Conference foes over the past five seasons. No SDSU wrestlers qualified for the Division I tournament this season for the second year in a row.
Liles came to Brookings in 1993 after leading Montana State-Northern to two NAIA titles.
