Another sign winter is winding down. At Oak Grove and Lindenwood Park crews from Industrial Builders rolled in with cranes to raise the walking bridges.

Both Moorhead and Fargo Park Districts worked with the contractor to move the bridges, which is done every year before the river rises. In the past, ice and tree debris have piled up on the iron, creating problems.

With road restrictions ahead of us, heavy equipment operators had to act quickly.

Tom Schock – Fargo Park District: “That is why we do it today, and then the same thing weather and the cranes come back out to let them put them back down.”

Once road restrictions are lifted and river levels drop, the bridges will be lowered.
