Dragon Men end national tournament drought Saturday

When you have to wait nearly 50 years between national tournament appearances, it's going to feel a bit surreal when it actually happens. I'm sure that was the emotion at MSU-Moorhead this week, as the Dragons earned their first trip to the D-2 Basketball tournament since 1965.
It’s been quite the turnaround for Chad Walthall and his team, inheriting a squad that went 10-17 in 2010, to a team that won 20 games for the first time in 30 years and now gets a rematch with Southwest State.
This will be the 3rd matchup with the Mustangs, each team has won once. It’s a 9:30 tip Saturday night.
