NDSU is joining with one of the Premiere National Laboratories to find new ways to use computing power in energy technology. Senator Hoeven is hosting an Energy Symposium at the University and bringing in representatives from the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory and other companies to talk about how bigger and faster computers can aid oil exploration and extraction, increased efficiencies in wind and improve environmental standards for energy production.
Tomas Diaz – Deputy Director Lawrence Livermore Lab: “Supercomputing today is at such a level of complexity and capability that it is easily applicable to advancing technologies going faster from discovery to commercialization.”
