(WDAY TV) - Regulators in North Dakota have filed court papers to take over a Sunflower Seed Company that owes farmers in the Dakotas more than 4-million dollars. The Public Service Commission has asked a judge to declare 5.
The company is based in Mentor, but has a warehouse north of Fargo. More than 20-North Dakota farmers have filed more than a million dollars in claims. South Dakota growers have done the same.
Financial statements indicate the company is nearly 12-million dollars in debt.
