CRYSTAL, Minn. (AP) — Authorities continue to dig in the backyard of a Crystal home for evidence in the suspected death of an infant years ago.
Crystal Police Chief John Banick tells the Star Tribune (http://bit.ly/w2T60U ) that members of the Hennepin County Sheriff's Office crime lab are focusing on a small portion of the backyard.
Investigators warmed a specific patch of ground Thursday so they can turn the soil behind the home.
A man and woman who lived there have been arrested in the case. Banick says authorities have until 4 p.m. Friday to charge the two or they would be released from jail while the investigation continues.
Officers were told of the possible death on Tuesday while they were investigating a domestic assault.
