The metro wide program that has area churches hosting the homeless comes at a critical time, with our storm moving in. Churches like this one in Moorhead are taking turns hosting overnight guests from over-flowing homeless shelters in Fargo-Moorhead.

More than 50 volunteers from this church are covering 56 shifts this week. The homeless arrive in the evening, are given a snack and a bed. They awake at 6 in the morning and leave for the day.

Pastor Alexis Twito – Central Cities Ministry: “This certainly the church is able and be a part of but what the churches want to remind everyone is this is not a church problem but a city issue and partner with the churches and address these problems.”

Because of the weather tonight, the church expects to host more than 20 guests who register with and are bused over from the full shelters.
