Moorhead, Minn. (WDAY TV) - Our bad weather comes at a time when area churches are reaching out to the homeless. Churches like this one in Moorhead are taking turns hosting overnight guests from over-flowing homeless shelters in Fargo Moorhead.

More than 50-volunteers from this church are covering 56-shifts this week. The homeless arrive in the evening, are given a snack and a bed. They awake at 6 in the morning and leave for the day.

PASTOR ALEXIS TWITO - Central Cities Ministry: “Sheltering churches if this was all we did it would not be enough it would be a bandaid. But if we utilize all the people now passionate about the homeless real people and use it to address long term needs community better for it.”

Because of the weather, the church expects to host more than 20 guests who register with and are bused over from the full shelters.
