Fargo, ND (WDAY-TV) -- The Fargo Fire Department says a house fire that broke out in a north Fargo home late Sunday is arson.
Crews responded to the home at 1217 10th Avenue North shortly before midnight for a fire that broke out in the basement.
It's an older home that's been converted into three apartments and the fire was in the basement unit.
Firefighters say when they arrived, flames were shooting out the windows.
Police Lt. Joel Vettel tells The Forum newspaper investigators believe that the 27-year-old tenant who was arrested used a lighter to set a couch on fire, to retaliate for a fight he was involved in earlier in the evening. Jesse Miller was arrested on suspicion of felony endangerment by fire.
The winter weather also caused some minor issues.
"We had a frozen hydrant," says Bob Cuchna with the Fargo Fire Department. "It took a little while to get it unstuck, but once we got her done we had plenty of water."
The amount of damage isn't clear yet.
Five people live in the building.
No one was hurt.
