Grand Forks, ND (WDAY TV) -- Drivers have had to adjust their habits and be more cautious. The big storm is reducing visibility on very icy roads, making for treacherous travels.
This winter storm is blanketing streets with snow, ice and drifts.
Leonard Rechik: "I drive like this on snowy roads with four wheel drive!"
For Leonard Rechik the storm is a welcome change from a mild winter.
Leonard Rechik: "Beautiful! Beautiful! Could use a little bit more snow, but what are you going to do?"
Me: "So you don't mind this?"
Leonard: "I don't mind it at all, not at all. It's good!"
The storm is giving street crews a taste of a more normal winter.
Mark Aubol, GF Streets Superintendent: "This is winter again, so we're back at it.. We'll have a lot of equipment out throughout the whole week it sounds like. So we'll try to do the best at keeping the streets as safe as we can."
Plows in Grand Forks are trying to maintain the main roads like Demers and Washington. Later tonight they'll be out in full force tackling the storm."
Mark Aubol, GF Streets Superintendent: "We'll have a big day tomorrow and then we'll go through all of Monday. And into Tuesday we'll probably be plowing yet.

Leonard Rechik: "We've been shopping and the roads have been pretty good. It's slippery in some sections and otherwise you take slower precautions and you'll be okay."
35 employees will be clearing snow on Grand Forks streets.
