JAMESTOWN, N.D. (AP) — A fire that destroyed a downtown Jamestown building and damaged another has been ruled accidental.

Fire Chief Jim Reuther tells The Associated Press that the cause is still under investigation but appears to be an electrical problem in a tractor inside the building.

The Friday fire destroyed a building owned by Vining Oil and damaged the adjacent vacant Elks building. The Jamestown Sun reports that a damage estimate is not yet available.

Some roads remain closed due to the fire. City and state officials are working to make sure contaminants such as oil from inside the Vining Oil building don't reach city water supplies.
