Moorhead, MN (WDAY TV) -- Law enforcement are very passionate about stopping the use of synthetic drugs.
They told Klobuchar about strong enforcement and prevention efforts, being done locally. Authorities agree the drugs are becoming more of a problem in smaller cities.
Cass County Sheriff Paul Laney says, "I am proud to say that we are on the progressive side of combating these illicit drugs, Senator Klobuchar, as the sheriff of Cass County and North Dakota, I am proud to say this sheriff fully supports your iniciative in foreside that you develop federal legislation prohibiting the sale of synthetic drugs."
Clay County Sheriff Bill Bergquist also says, "Our times are changing, our youth are growing up in a different world, so the more we as adults can help them with that and provide them with the positive things the better off that we are going to be."
39 states ban the sale of spike, or K-2. 30 ban the sale of bath salts. North Dakota bans both.
