MINOT, N.D. (AP) — Hotel construction is up in North Dakota's booming oil patch but rooms are still tough to book in some areas.

The Minot Daily News reports that (http://bit.ly/A3Eobu) the number of hotel rooms statewide increased from 15,207 in 2009 to 16,221 in 2011.

Williston Convention and Visitors Bureau director Amy Krueger says the number of hotel rooms in the city has grown by more than 300 rooms to 934 in the past year. But she says it's still not enough.

She says Williston will have more than 1,200 rooms by June, when three of the six hotels under construction open.

Minot Convention and Visitors Bureau director Wendy Howe says the city has about 1,900 rooms at present. That's up about 300 rooms in about two years.
