Lake Region Leader Among 3 Finalists for Ohio Job

DEVILS LAKE, N.D. (AP) — The president of Lake Region State College is one of three finalists for the president's job at Owens Community College in the Toledo, Ohio, area.

Mike Bower says he will visit the school Monday as part of a two-day series of public forums and meetings with all three candidates.

The 62-year-old Bower, an Ohio native, says he wants to return to that part of the country to be closer to family. He says he will look for other jobs in the region if he does not get the Owens job.

Bower tells the Grand Forks Herald (http://bit.ly/xzcB4b) the move has nothing to do with Lake Region. He says the Devils Lake community has treated him well.

Bower was named president of Lake Region in 2008.
