(WDAY TV) - A Red Angus cow on a Ranch near Fosston probably deserve a break. The animal recently gave birth to four calves! All of them are healthy.

While it's not unheard of, quadruplets in beef cattle is extremely rare. The calves were born last Saturday, even though the cow wasn't due until March.

When Keith Sistad noticed the animal acting up, he put her in the barn. When he went ot check at 2:30 in the morning, she already had a set of twin heifers on the ground.

Sistad went back inside to get a little more sleep and four hours later there were two more babies! The four calves weighed from 36 to 48 pounds each, for a combined weight of about 160 pounds.

Typically, a single newborn Red Angus calf weighs about 80 to 85 pounds.
