JAMESTOWN, N.D. (AP) — A jury has the case of a Jamestown woman accused of killing a Somali immigrant.
The Jamestown Sun reports (http://bit.ly/Ab9dEC ) that jurors deciding Janelle Cave's fate were expected to deliberate until about 5 p.m. Wednesday and reconvene at 9 a.m. Thursday.
The 22-year-old Cave is charged with murder and criminal conspiracy in the beating and stabbing death of 18-year-old Abdi Ali Ahmed. His body was found last April in a ditch near Spiritwood. Thirty-four-year-old Leron Howard has pleaded not guilty to the same charges.
The eight men and four women deciding Cave's case began deliberating about 3 p.m. Wednesday after lawyers gave closing arguments.
Cave testified that she was scared of Howard.
If found not guilty of murder, she could still be found guilty of manslaughter or negligent homicide.
