He is climbing in the polls, and becoming Mitt Romney's chief rival in the GOP race for the Republican nomination for president. Tonight Rick Santorum is in Fargo.

People have just begun filing in to the Holiday Inn, where hundreds are expected to gather to listen to what Mr. Santorum has to say. The speech starts at seven and expected to last an hour and a half. We caught with Mr. Santorum just a short while ago and asked him why he felt a campaign stop in North Dakota was necessary.

Rick Santorum – (R) Candidate for President: “If you want a candidate that wants to do on a national scale what North Dakota has done on a state scale then you gotta vote for Rick Santorum because we're going to take common sense conservative principals the idea government is there not to be on your back but at your side and helping you.”

The rally officially starts at 7 here at the Holiday Inn and is open to the public.
