While flooding is not expected to be as severe this year, the Fargo Police Department is taking no chances. With the help of Fargo Cass Public Health, they've created guides titled “Are You Prepared."

The guides are available in about 15 different languages including Arabic, Somali and Swahili. As the F-M area continues to become more diverse, city officials say they want to make sure everyone is prepared for floods.

Christie Jacobson – Fargo Police Department Cultural Liaison Officer: “Even if they weren't evacuated, we explain to them what they should potentially stock up on, water, baby food, medication, formula. To anticipate hearing a lot of lights and sirens as the sandbag trucks go by their house.”

The guides are available at Fargo Cass Public Health. You can also access them online by visiting the city of Fargo website.
