Northland Community and Technical College in Thief River Falls is getting a big donation - literally - from the NBA's Detroit Pistons.
The team is donating its old DC-9 airplane. The leather seats and multiple TVs are just a few luxury items on the DC-9 aircraft.
Northland won't be flying the aircraft anywhere. They'll be taking the plane apart and putting it back together to learn how to maintain an airplane.
Jim Retka – Dean of Aviation: "In terms of how nice this aircraft is in terms of configuration of the cabin yes certainly this is the nicest aircraft we have received."
Eric Tjelle – Northland Foundation President: "We're very thankful for the Detriot Pistons organization, what a gift."
The plane was used for 10 years to carry players, coaches, trainers, and media to its away games.
