What would have been a typical ho-hum pizza delivery, has now turned into a search for two men wanted in connection with an armed robbery of the Papa John's delivery man. The ambush happened in a parking lot just south of Essentia.

So the question Fargo police investigators are asking tonight? Is a delivered Papa John's Pizza worth going to prison for?

Lt. Joel Vettel – Fargo Police: “Just caution people it is not worth risking their life.”

It was at this apartment parking lot that a pizza delivery man drove up to bring several pizzas that had been ordered. Two bad guys approached before he entered the apartment.

Lt. Joel Vettel: “It appears they had a handgun and told him to give them money.”

It was at that point the Papa John's delivery man challenged the two bad guys alleging the hand gun was not real at all.

Larry Asheim – Papa John’s Delivery Man: “At that point, they grabbed the pizza and fled on foot.”

Larry Asheim delivers for Pappa Johns.

Larry Asheim: “Why would one anyone risk prison for 20 bucks or 15? Pretty crazy”

He's had his car ransacked before, and he like the police are wondering why anyone with a gun would hold up a pizza man.

Armed robbery will put you away for a while - a steep price to pay for a pepperoni and mushroom pie.

The Fargo Police canine unit did follow the scent of the two men briefly, before losing track of them.

Fargo Police are looking for two men in their late teens or early 20s. One was carrying an automatic handgun. Both were wearing hooded sweatshirts, one blue and one black. The two men wore black and white bandanas over their faces.
