FARGO – A 53-year-old man who was kicked out of The Nestor bar in down-town Fargo is accused of returning and attacking a bartender with a utility knife on Monday.

Paul Conley was charged with aggravated assault Tuesday in Cass County District Court.

According to the police report, the bartender said there was an argument at the jukebox and he warned the parties to stop or they’d be kicked out of the bar at 1001 NP Ave.

One of the parties, identified as Conley, started threatening the bartender, the report states.

The bartender told police he pushed Conley outside and that Conley hit his head on the door frame in the process.

Conley later came back into the bar and allegedly swung a utility knife at the bartender, cutting his shirt and causing a long scratch on his torso. The bartender and three other men were able to wrestle the knife away from Conley and hold him down until officers arrived, the report states.

Conley was later arrested at Centre Inc. detox, the report states.
