Many coyote hunters are on the prowl in search of the next great one, and this year buyers are paying more for that fur.

Rick Mittleider has been a fur buyer for decades. Mittleider says the coyote market hasn't been this high in more than 20 years. He says most of these coyote furs will end up in China, where the economy is improving. Demand for luxury items is increasing, making these furs worth more.

Rick Mittleider - Fur Buyer: “But, the last few years, they have been floating around $20 in the carcass. Skinned, stretched and dried about $40. It's been a long time since they were this high. It's been 20 plus years that they have been at this level."

Mittleider says fur prices are also up for minks, muskrats, badgers and foxes. He says foxes are worth about $25, while badgers prices are near $70.
