(WDAY TV) - In the Twin Cities, officials are warning people of thin ice after two vehicles went through the ice on the same lake in one day. It happened on Lake Minnetonka.

Crews had to pull a truck up from the bottom of the lake after it broke through with two people inside. Both managed to get out safely.

There were just 4 inches of ice where the truck went in, but other areas of the lake have up to 15 inches. The constantly changing temperature this winter has made for some unstable ice.

If a car goes through the ice, the owner is legally required to have it removed. That bill starts at 2 to 3-thousand dollars.
