BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — The North Dakota Tax Department and the Internal Revenue Service are hosting taxpayer assistance sessions this week for Minot and Bismarck-Mandan flood victims.

State Tax Commissioner Cory Fong says Minot residents impacted by Souris River flooding last year and Bismarck-Mandan residents hurt by Missouri River flooding might find it challenging to file their 2011 returns because of the complexities associated with flood-related losses. He says the assistance sessions are aimed at helping taxpayers work through those issues.

Afternoon and evening informational sessions are planned Wednesday at the Bismarck Doublewood Inn and Thursday at the North Dakota State Fair Center in Minot.
